Imberhorne students raise money for charities
Earlier in the year, the Senior Students and members of the Student Council chose to support two cancer charities in a day of fund raising activities, including students donating money to wear non-uniform.Russ Wales, father of a Year 10 student, was diagnosed with Leukaemia five years ago and was very keen to support ELF (Elimination of Leukaemia Fund). He wrote to the senior students asking for their help in raising money. Similarly, Mike Evans, an ex-KS4 SEN Team Leader and Geography teacher sought sponsorship for a gruelling 708 kilometre ski challenge in February. Students, parents and staff helped to raise over £1,100. Mike and Russ handed over individual presentation cheques totaling £6,460 for ELF, St Catherine’s Hospice and Cancer Research UK.Thank you to everyone for your generosity and willingness to support these worthy charities.
