Year 11 Graduation Ceremony
May 2010, by Mr M. Swan<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> On the evening of Tuesday 11th May 2010 the annual Year 11 Graduation Ceremony took place at the Effingham Park Hotel - a superb venue for a fitting occasion. This year’s students produced record numbers of graduates: 70 graduate, 77 with merit and 63 with distinction. All the students deserve huge credit, not only for their academic progress, but also for meeting the criteria required to graduate (for example: behaviour, punctuality, deadlines and school or community service that has benefitted others). Particular recognition went to Philippa Lincoln who gained the Ann Bolt Shield for her outstanding contributions in her ‘Record of Achievement’ (part of the criteria for all Year 11 students if they wanted to graduate). Worthy runners up here were, Gareth Jones, Victoria Hands, Sophie Bellisio and Rikki Palmer. Miss J. Barwell and the school jazz band provided an appropriate sound track to the evening. All present were treated to the sheer musical brilliance of Toby Elliot and Elliot McGuffie. A wonderful evening.
