Imberhorne works to ‘Save the Hedgehog’

Mindful of how the UK’s hedgehog population has dropped from 30 million in the 1950s to only a million today – Our Imberhorne ‘Eco Club’ has put down its first Hedgehog House in the bushes next to the raised beds in Windmill Lane. We will be monitoring the hedgehog house over the next few weeks in the hope that this native porcupine will find a happy home there.
Hedgehogs will be getting ready to hibernate soon through the winter so we are hoping that one of them might roll into a little ball and get cosy in the dry leaves inside their house.
If you ever find a hedgehog that might need help – you can contact the British Hedgehog Society to find a nearby shelter (www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk).
