Year 12 sports day 2010
8th July 2010 by S. Morgan, Year 12 student<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> So Year 12 sports day came round again. With a mixture of real sports, primary sports, egg and spoon racing, an obstacle course and of course the wheelbarrow race. The day really is just about fun and distinct from the traditional sports days of Year 7, 8 and 9. All of the teachers really get into the spirit of the day, but no one could exceed the sheer amount of effort that was put in by our year. Very nearly all of Year 12 turned up painted from head to toe in the colours of our forms, either block, like a number from the black team (NBO) and J. Williams for the greens (STU). But for the majority of us, simple war paint was enough. Everyone got dressed up in their colours too, some went even further! There was a Spongebob, (B. Fagan) and recycling boxes (H. Greener and M. Manwill). For the actual events, J. Smith and A. Radcliffe exceeded in their running events, as did the teachers in their relay. I can’t actually remember the results of the other events (maybe J. Allard in the obstacle course and of course my win in the egg and spoon race) but I think this simply shows the emphasis on support and fun that this day is all about! So for the big results: best motivated 12PBY, best dressed 12STU and the overall winners 12JBR.From all of the Year 12’s thanks to Miss Brown who organised the day and managed to stay relatively impartial (most of the time) and to the rest of the teachers.
