Staff Sighted on Broomsticks? 8th October 2012
The Year 12 Level 2 Creative Media group went on a magical Warner Bros Studio Tour of Harry Potter World on Monday 8th October. The aim was to see behind the scenes of the biggest British film franchise and to appreciate how much goes into the process of producing a film. We were allowed to enter the Hogwarts dining hall, Dumbledore’s office, the Weasley’s Burrow and Hagrid’s Hut – all the real sets used in all eight films – as well as to see hundreds of costumes, props, special effects and visual effects. Some of us even had our photographs taken on a Quidditch broomstick and in the flying Ford Anglia! One of the highlights was being able to walk around a scaled model of Hogwarts which is used for all of the exterior scenes of the school and its grounds – the level of detail in the design and construction was breath taking and we will all be looking at the films with a new appreciation of the thousands of people involved in bringing such a fantasy world to life.Miss E NewmanHead of Media
