La Grande Découverte
Year 8 embarked on their 3 day Grande Découverte in France during the end of June. Literally translated to the Big Discovery - this trip enables students to try their bravery with a snail snack, appreciate sea life with a visit to Nausica, observe some traditional French baking and also visit some First World War memorials to appreciate the devastating loss to life during this European war. The students tried out their French in the market, ordering their own lunch with their language skills, growing in confidence every day over their time away.
Back in the calendar after a two year gap, we were thrilled we could make this adventure happen for a year group where many missed their Year 6 trips due to covid and have never stayed away from home before. Thank you to all the staff who accompanied this trip to ensure our stduents received this cultural capital in abundance.
