Congratulations to the talented musicians, tech crew and music department who created the most wonderful concert on Thursday 9th February.  The standard was very high and the difficult task of judging the performers fell to Assistant Headteacher and former opera singer, Mr D Jones, Rosie Secker, West Sussex Music vocal coach and Rickard Gustafsson, visiting Music teacher from Sweden. 

Max Holden in Year 10 was crowned KS4 Musician of the Year 2017 following his vocal and guitar performance of ‘No Name’by Ryan O'Shaughnessy. Closely followed by a second placed Matt Crofts (self-composed drum solo ‘On Edge’) and third placed Jasmin Solomons (self-composed piano solo ‘Behind the Façade’).

The event was supported by not only the family and friends of the musicians but notably, so many of the students’ peers as well. There was a lovely atmosphere in the Di Gasson studio and this event will retain its title as one of our calendar favourites.
